Transporting pets with RyanAir

RyanAir is an Irish low-cost airline that offers flights around Europe, as well as to some North American and Asian countries. RyanAir prohibits all kinds of pets except for guide and assistance dogs on its flights. However, there are some routes on which transportation of any pets is not possible.

It is NOT allowed to carry guide and assistance dogs on the following flights:

· Flights from and to Morocco;

· Flights from and to Israel.

RyanAir accepts guide and assistance dogs on its flights inside the EU, the EEA, and Ireland.

Here are the general requirements for the guide and assistance dogs traveling with RyanAir:

· Your dog has to be trained to assist a person with a disability. This must be confirmed by a certificate from an accredited organization (Assistance Dogs International, Assistance Dogs UK, or International Guide Dog Federation);

· The dog has to wear a special identifying jacket or harness during the flight;

· Guide and assistance dogs are transported in the cabin and have to sit on the floor at the owner’s feet;

· Dogs must be attached to the owner’s seat belt with a harness to ensure the safety of the dog during take-off, turbulence, and landing. You can use other devices to restrain your dog well;

· Guide and assistance dogs travel for free on RyanAir’s flights;

· The limit of guide/assistance dogs is 4 per flight;

· You should inform RyanAir of your plan to travel with a guide/assistance dog in advance, preferably at the time of booking, to ensure the service is available on your flight.

If you want to travel to the UK or Ireland with your guide or assistance dog with RyanAir, you’ll need to follow certain requirements:

· You have to provide a European pet passport or an official veterinary certificate and special medical documents if you come from a third country;

· In addition, your guide or assistance dog has to be trained by these organizations: International Guide Dog Federation, Assistance Dogs UK, or Assistance Dog International.

The requirements for flights inside the EU and the EEA are quite similar:

· You have to provide a European pet passport or an official veterinary certificate and special medical documents if you come from a third country;

· Your guide or assistance dog has to be trained by one of these organizations: International Guide Dog Federation or Assistance Dog International.
