Requirements for travelling to Algeria with pets

If you want to visit Algeria with your pet, you don’t need to get an import permit or many other documents. However, while planning a journey to Algeria, make sure, your pet complies with the following requirements:

· Your pet must have an identity document. It can be a European pet passport or health certificate depending on the country of origin;

· The microchip isn’t required but it is recommended for better identification;

· Pets must be vaccinated against rabies and some other infectious diseases such as hepatitis, distemper, and parvovirus. Rabies vaccination must be carried out not less than 30 days and not more than a year before the departure. The vaccination certificates must be valid at the time of the journey.

In case of compliance with all the requirements, pets are not quarantined after their arrival in Algeria. If your pet is denied to enter, you will be responsible for all additional expenses.
